Clothes are a risky present. Wrong size, wrong colour, and it ends up at the back of the wardrobe with the tags still on.
A cardigan is about as safe as clothes get, though. Ours is cut loose, so the size doesn't have to be spot on, and she can wear it every week from now until spring. Whether it's for your girlfriend, your sister or your best friend, here's how to get colour and size right without asking her and ruining the surprise.
Pick the colour by looking at her wardrobe
Don't think about what you like. Think about what she wears on a normal Tuesday. Have a look at her Instagram if you need to.
Still no idea? Go light gray. It's the colour reviewers keep describing as going with everything, and it's the hardest one to get wrong.

Three ways, from least to most effort:
- Check the label in a jumper or top she wears a lot. Take that size. The cardigan is meant to sit loose, so her usual size is the right one.
- Borrow that jumper for five minutes. Lay it flat, measure armpit to armpit, double it and compare with the chest measurements in our size guide.
- Ask her best friend. Honestly the most reliable option.
If you know roughly how tall she is and what she usually wears, the size quiz in the size guide does the rest. If she's between two sizes: the bigger one if she likes things slouchy, her usual one if she mostly wears fitted stuff.
Order early enough

So please don't leave it until the 20th. If you want to be relaxed about it, order in November.
One honest heads-up: the 14-day return window starts when the parcel arrives, not on Christmas Eve. If you order early, be fairly sure about the size before you order. That's what the quiz is for. And if it doesn't fit after all, message us and we'll sort it out :)

Message us at hello@mayfairclo.com and we'll sort out a different size. Returns are possible within 14 days of receiving the order, unworn with the tags on.
